Shiloh Book Review by Hannah

     Today is October 24, 2013. We have just completed our second novel, Shiloh. The protagonist in the book is Shiloh. A protagonist is the main character of the whole book. The antagonist is Judd. An antagonist is a character that fights against the main character.

   The main conflict in the story is when Marty face the fact that Shiloh is not for sale. The resolution was when Marty got Shiloh back by working for Judd. My favorite part of the book was when Marty got Shiloh back. My least favorite part of Shiloh is when Judd took Shiloh back. if I could be any of the character in the book I would be Shiloh because Shiloh is the main character and that Shiloh is always good to people. I would recommend this book to another student because it's a good book for younger kids can read.

Here's The Scoop By Hannah

     Today is October 4, 2013. It has been a great week. I did a awesome job on my states test. I will continue working on my states. The one thing I find difficult when learning about states is that I am learning the states a different way then last year.

     In Math we have been working on Place Value. I think Place Value is just decimals and numbers. We worked on ITunes U with Ms. Ellis in Math. I really rock it. The most interesting thing working with ITunes U is the fun work we do.

   We started a new novel called Shiloh. It's about Marty meeting a dog the he named Shiloh, Shiloh owner named Judd scolds him for no reasons a all. The one thing that I like about this novel is that Marty meets Shiloh for the first time. The one thing I did not like about this novel is that Judd scolds Shiloh. One character trait that describes the main character Marty is he is kind, because he takes care of Shiloh.

     October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Three important facts about it one is women who carry the BRCA1 and BRCA1 mutated genes, have 80% risk of developing Breast Cancer. Anther fat about it is Nearly 200,000 Americans are diagnosed with Breast Cancer annually. Yet according to the center for Disease Control and Prevention there are roughly 2.5 million Breast Cancer survivors in the U.S. The last fact is that men have a 1 out of 1,000 chance of developing Breast Cancer, about 100 less likely then women. It is most common in men ages 60 to 70. The American Cancer Society Predicts 2,190 new cases in 2012. Grades come out in a couple of weeks. I'm sure I have wonderful job on my grades.

Walker's 5th Grade Wonders!

I am Hannah, I am one of Mrs. Walker's 5th Grade Wonders, and this is what I love to do in 5th grade. One of the things I love to do is to create new things on my IPAD, one example is that I love to post Blogs on my IPAD. I know that there's a States Test coming up on September 25, 2013. The hardest thing to do everyday on school days is to leave school. If I were a teacher, I would do the same thing that the other teachers do. If I would describe myself, it would be that I am a nice person, because I am nice to people who are nice to me. The person who is important to me is my mom, because she is always taking care of me. A behavior is a Trait that will help you with friends because you should treat them how you would treat yourself, and this is some of the things I love in Mrs. Walker's 5th Grade Class!!!!!

Here's the Scoop from Room 12

Today is another Hot day in room 12. It's Wednesday, September 11, 2013. The temperature says it is 95F right now. The hardest part about being in school when it's hot is that I am sweating a lot. The week we will be taking two district tests in Reading and in Math. I think I did well. We have been Reading Maniac Magee. The best part of the book so far is when Maniac hit a frog that McNab used as a ball. I really didn't like it when McNab used a frog instead of a ball. We have been working on Plot, Character and Setting while reading Maniac Magee. Plot is events that happened in the story. Character is the people that have a part in the story.
